Instructions on how to choose seats on China Eastern flights

When buying tickets to China Eastern airport (Chinese Eastern) via aggregators of the Aviasales or Trip.com and intermediary sites with payment by Russian cards usually do not have the opportunity to choose seats in the cabin, even for a fee. However, China Eastern A/C makes it quite easy to choose specific seats in the cabin, and for free and not necessarily during registration, but you can do it in advance immediately after buying tickets. Now we will tell you how it is done:

• 1. After purchasing tickets, you will receive electronic tickets or a route receipt by mail or in the LC. There is all the necessary data for choosing a place: booking number, e-ticket number, flight number.

  

• 2. Visit the official website of the a/c site https://ru.ceair.com/ru/, they have a Russian version. It works "clumsily" and slowly, so be prepared for some difficulties.

  On the website, select the menu item "Booking Management" and the sub-item "Place selection". Important! It is "Seat selection" that is needed, not "Check-in" or "Order Management".

• 3. You will be taken to the next page. It is not necessary to be registered on the website or in the a/k loyalty system, everything is done without registration, only according to your ticket data.

  Fill in the data on the page that we take from your electronic ticket:

  • 1. Ticket number – 13 digits
  • 2. Flight number without letters. For example, the flight "MU5066", we take only the numbers – 5066
  • 3. Your name is in Latin as in your passport and ticket.
  • 4. Your last name is in both passport and ticket.
  • 5. Click the "Book/cancel" button.

  

• 4. You will be taken to a page where you will see all your flights using this electronic ticket. If you have a connecting flight and round trip, then all flights will be available at once, you can choose seats for all segments.

  If you don't see anything and the system gives an error, it means that something was entered incorrectly. Then go back to the previous step and try again. If nothing helped, then there is a problem with the armor, contact the support on the seller's website and ask to check. Or in the worst case, you have a fake ticket. This happens if you buy from scammers on "left-wing sites" or in messengers and social networks. To avoid such a situation, buy everything only on whitelisted sites.

  Which is convenient, if you bought tickets for several people at once, then you can immediately add them and select seats for everyone. To do this, move down the screen, tick "Information about fellow travelers", and enter the data of another passenger from the ticket in the same form as above. You only need to additionally enter your phone number. The number can be the same for all passengers.

  

• 5. When additional passengers are added (if any), you can proceed to seat selection. Click on each flight in turn and select seats. The principle is that you need to choose a place for one segment / flight, then go back to the list of flights as above, choose another flight and a place for it, etc. for each passenger and each flight.

  The choice of places is easy. Free places are marked on the diagram with white squares. "Move" around the cabin with the up and down arrows. After the selection, you need to click the "Save" button.

  

After you have selected and indicated all the seats for passengers, you don't need to do anything else, they will be assigned to you before check-in.

You can check additionally whether everything was chosen correctly and whether everything was saved, or change the selected places, starting from step # 2.
