Luang Prabang Night Market on Sisavangvong Road is one of the main evening tourist attractions. This is the real tourist heart of Luang Prabang, and almost the entire evening "tourist party", with rare exceptions, takes place here.

The market appeared in 2002, when Hmong women from the surrounding villages decided to try selling their crafts to tourists here. During the day it is an ordinary city street, but after dark (usually it is 18 hours) it is transformed: traders come out with their carts, and umbrellas and stalls grow like mushrooms. The street becomes completely pedestrian.

The main range of goods here is still handicrafts made by the hands of local residents, but there are a lot of Chinese consumer goods issued for manual work, so be careful. Prices are low but differ between sellers. It is necessary to compare prices and bargain, but trade is very soft, not at all like in Thailand or Vietnam, for example. Sellers themselves almost apologizing after the first named Price will reduce it if you are not immediately interested. So bargain, smile, and have fun.

After you finish shopping, you can inexpensively eat traditional and exotic Asian dishes. There are stalls with street fast food and desserts, restaurants and cafes in houses along the street, and street cafes with plastic tables and stools. At the end of the street near the intersection with Kingkitsalat road there is a small lane going towards the river. In the evening, this alley turns into one big street food court, where different vendors offer all kinds of dishes from all cuisines of Asia. In one place, you can get as much food into a plate as you can eat in just 15,000 Kip. True, the sanitary conditions in this food court will not appeal to everyone: it is too dirty and crowded.
