Many write that Pattaya has bad beaches, but that's not entirely true. There are beaches here, they are sandy, quite clean, and constantly refreshed—the authorities regularly add sand. The only downside is that the water is not clear but murky greenish due to suspended particles. But it's not dirt, it's silt and sand, so swimming is safe. In the dry season (November to April), the water is warm and relatively calm; in the rainy season (May–October), the sea may be murkier due to storms, but still suitable for swimming. If you need a perfect beach with azure water, it's better to go to Phuket or Krabi. But if you want an inexpensive vacation with good infrastructure, entertainment, and the opportunity to swim, Pattaya is quite suitable. And adding a trip to Koh Larn island will give you clear water too.
