Yes, visiting Big Buddha Hill (Wat Phra Yai) in Pattaya is definitely worth it, especially if you want to touch the culture and see the main religious attraction of the resort. This is not just a statue, but an active temple complex that is very different from the usual golden temples of Bangkok. The main feature is the 18-meter golden statue of a seated Buddha, visible from many points of the city. But the most interesting thing is at the top of the hill, which is reached by a staircase decorated with dragons (nagas). There you will see not only the main statue, but also a whole collection of small sculptures illustrating the Buddha's path to enlightenment.

Special attention deserves the rare statue of "Emaciated Buddha", depicting Prince Siddhartha during a period of strict asceticism. This is a very unusual and memorable image that is rarely found in Thai temples. In addition, the hill offers a great panoramic view of the coastline of Pattaya and Jomtien. We recommend combining a visit to this place with a walk to the neighboring Pratamnak Hill, where the famous viewpoint is located. On the way to the Big Buddha temple, you can also look into the small Chinese Taoist temple Wat Sam Sien. More useful details and personal impressions can be found in our detailed guide to the temple in the article Big Buddha Temple in Pattaya (Wat Phra Yai).
