There are also many interesting things in the vicinity of Pattaya. Here are the main attractions worth seeing:
- Wat Yanasangwararam Temple — a beautiful and unusual temple 15 km from the city, free admission.
- Khao Chi Chan (Buddha Mountain) — a huge image of Buddha laser-engraved on a cliff, located 20 km to the south.
- Khao Kheow Open Zoo — one of the largest open zoos in Asia, a 45-minute drive away.
- Ramayana Water Park — 25 km south of the city.
- Long Neck Village — an artificial tourist village 23 km from the center.
From Pattaya, it is also convenient to take day trips to Bangkok, the ancient capital Ayutthaya, and the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi.
