Which markets should you visit in Kuala Lumpur?

Markets in Kuala Lumpur are not just places for shopping, but real attractions where you can immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. Here are the best ones:
- Petaling Street in Chinatown. This is the most famous tourist market. They sell everything: from counterfeit brand clothing and bags to souvenirs, electronics, and local sweets. Bargaining here is not just appropriate, but mandatory. It's best to come in the evening when the market is especially lively.
- Central Market (Pasar Seni). This is the best place to buy original souvenirs and handmade gifts. Unlike Petaling Street, here they sell items by local artisans: batik, wood carvings, jewelry, paintings. The atmosphere is more relaxed and cultural.
- Chow Kit. This is one of the oldest and most authentic markets in the city. There are almost no tourists here, but you can see the real life of Kuala Lumpur. Fresh produce, meat, fish, spices, and textiles are sold. The place is very colorful, but you should be careful with your belongings.
- Night Market (Pasar Malam). In different areas of the city, mobile night markets open in the evenings. There you can try street food, buy clothes, toys, and electronics at very low prices. The schedule of such markets should be checked locally.
