There is plenty to see at the Thean Hou Temple, it's a whole complex, not just a single building. Here are the main locations and activities:

  1. Main six-tiered building: Ascend from tier to tier, examining architectural details—carved dragons, red columns, curved roofs, and, of course, hundreds of traditional red lanterns.
  2. Prayer hall with the statue of the goddess Mazu: Inside is the main shrine—the statue of the sea goddess Mazu (Thean Hou), to whom the temple is dedicated. Here you can observe worshippers or, following instructions in English, try the fortune stick ritual.
  3. Upper observation deck: Be sure to go to the very top. From there, you get an excellent panoramic view of the temple complex itself and the residential areas of Kuala Lumpur.
  4. Souvenir market: On the lower level, there is a market with religious items, souvenirs, incense, and decorations at very reasonable prices.
  5. Concert hall and wedding palace: On the grounds, there is its own stage where performances sometimes take place, and a hall for wedding ceremonies. You can often meet newlyweds having photo sessions.
  6. Food court: If you get hungry, there is a place on the grounds where you can have a snack.

The atmosphere here is very lively and friendly. You can simply stroll, take photos (it's one of the most photogenic places in the city), and observe the life of a modern Chinese temple in Malaysia.
