Getting to the River of Life in Kuala Lumpur is very easy, as it is located in the very center of the city. The best way is on foot from nearby tourist spots or by metro.
On foot: If you are walking around the center, from Chinatown, Petaling Street, or Central Market (Pasar Seni) it takes only 5-7 minutes. The best viewing platform is at the bridge right on the Central Market side.
By metro: The nearest station is Masjid Jamek. It is an interchange hub for the LRT Kelana Jaya, LRT Ampang, and MRT Kajang lines. Upon exiting the station, you will almost immediately see the Jamek Mosque, and behind it, the illuminated confluence of rivers.
By taxi or Grab: You can order a ride to "River of Life" or "Masjid Jamek". This is convenient if you are coming from a distant area.
Where exactly to look: The most advantageous view opens from the bridge near Pasar Seni Central Market. From there you can see the Jamek Mosque in the background, the colorful illumination of the water, and the artificial fog clouds.
Tip: Visiting the River of Life fits perfectly into an evening walk itinerary. You can combine it with dinner in Chinatown, shopping on Petaling Street, and exploring Central Market.
