The nearest and main metro station (LRT) to the tourist heart of Chinatown (Petaling Street area) is Pasar Seni. It is on the Kelana Jaya Line (colored red on maps). From the station exit to the beginning of Petaling Street market is just a few minutes' walk.
Also convenient for Chinatown are two other stations:
- Masjid Jamek: About a 10-minute walk away. Its advantage is that it is an interchange hub for three LRT lines, providing greater flexibility in routes.
- Plaza Rakyat: Located near the old Puduraya bus station. Connected to it by a covered walkway. From here you can also walk to Chinatown in 10-15 minutes.
If you are using the Monorail, the nearest station to Chinatown is Maharajalela. However, from there to the center of Chinatown it is a longer walk, about 10-15 minutes (almost a kilometer).
Thus, for quick access to the main attractions, hotels and restaurants of Chinatown, focus primarily on Pasar Seni station.
