Answer (changed )

Renting a motorbike (scooter) in Langkawi is the most popular and convenient way to get around. Prices vary greatly depending on the season, rental location, and model. Approximate prices for 2026:

  • Scooter 110 cc: from 35 to 50 Malaysian ringgit (MYR) per day (approximately 7141020 rubles). This is the most common and economical model.
  • More powerful bike (125-150 cc): from 60 to 120 MYR per day (12242448 rubles).

Where is it cheaper to rent?

  • At the airport or port upon arrival — you can often get a good price, especially when booking online in advance or renting for several days.
  • At Pantai Cenang beach — there are many offers, but prices are usually higher (from 50 MYR for a basic scooter). It's worth haggling and checking several rental shops.

What is important to know when renting:

  1. License. Theoretically, you need an International Driving Permit (IDP) with category "A". In practice, rental companies rarely check it, but if stopped by the police, there will be problems. Regular Russian licenses are not valid.
  2. Deposit. Usually, a cash deposit is taken (50-100 MYR) or a copy of your passport is made. Do not leave your original passport!
  3. Inspection. Be sure to photograph or video all scratches and damages on the bike before leaving to avoid unjustified claims upon return.
  4. Helmet. Provided for free, always wear it — it's mandatory by law.
