You can get to Langkawi from Thailand by ferry from two locations: from the city of Satun and from the island of Koh Lipe. This is a popular way to combine holidays in two countries.

From Satun: Ferries depart daily from Tammalang Pier at 11:30 (Thai time) and arrive at the main port of Langkawi, Kuah Jetty. Travel time is about 1.5 hours. The one-way ticket price for an adult is approximately 450 baht (about 55 ringgit). This is an international flight, so it is mandatory to go through passport control and fill out the electronic MDAC card in advance for entry into Malaysia.

From Koh Lipe: Ferries operate daily during the high season (from October to May). Departure from Pattaya Beach on Koh Lipe is usually at 10:30, 14:30, and 16:30. Ferries arrive either at Telaga Harbour on the west of Langkawi or at Kuah Jetty. Travel time is from 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours. The cost is higher—about 128 ringgit (1300-1400 baht) one-way for an adult.

Important: When purchasing a ticket, clarify the arrival port on Langkawi (Kuah Jetty or Telaga Harbour), as this affects the cost and transfer time to your hotel.

Tickets for both routes can be purchased online on trusted sites like Trip.com: or 12go.asia, which is especially recommended during the high season.
