Which mobile operator is best for tourists in Abkhazia in 2026?

For tourists in Abkhazia in 2026, the two local operators – Aquafon (Aquafon) and A-mobile – are the best options. They are practically indistinguishable in terms of coverage area and tariff costs, so you can choose either one. The main advantage of local SIM cards is significantly lower prices for calls and mobile internet compared to international roaming with Russian operators.

For the convenience of tourists, both operators offer ready-made prepaid packages with internet bundles. For example:

• Aquafon "Sea Maxi" for 1090 rubles: 10 GB of internet and 100 minutes to local numbers for 30 days.
• A-mobile "Summer+" for 1190 rubles: similarly 10 GB and 100 minutes for 30 days.

If you only need internet, there are tariffs with unlimited traffic, for example, "Mega Hit" from Aquafon for 1350 rubles.

If your smartphone supports eSIM, you can apply for it online on the operators' websites, which is very convenient. Overall, purchasing a local SIM card is the most cost-effective and simple way to stay connected during your vacation in Abkhazia.
