When going on an island tour from El Nido, take a minimum of things, but several key items are essential for comfort and safety.

You must take:

  • Swimsuit/swim trunks. Wear them immediately under your clothes so as not to waste time changing.
  • Waterproof bag (dry bag). There will be a lot of splashes in the boat, plus you will have to enter the water. In such a bag, you can put your phone, documents, money, and camera. They are sold on every corner in El Nido.
  • Cash. To pay for additional fees (environmental fee of 200 pesos, entrance to the lagoon in tour A), mask rental (from 150 pesos), and shoes (100 pesos).
  • Comfortable water shoes. Sports sandals or crocs that fit well on the foot are suitable. You will be persuaded to rent 'aqua shoes' for 100 pesos, but this is not necessary if you have your own suitable pair.
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses. The sun on the water is very active.
  • Light change of clothes and towel. You will definitely get wet.

What you can not take:

  • Food. All tours include a very good buffet-style lunch with seafood, meat, rice, and fruits.
  • Expensive jewelry and large sums of money. It is better to leave valuables in the hotel safe.
Important about the mask: If you have your own snorkeling mask β€” take it. The rental one may not be of the best quality. If you don't have your own, rent it on the spot.

By following these tips, you can fully enjoy the beauty of the islands without being distracted by everyday inconveniences. Read more useful life hacks and details about organizing tours in our guide: Island tours in El Nido on Palawan.
