A tourist SIM card is a ready-made package from a local operator (AIS, Dtac, True), created specifically for visitors. In a beautiful package, you get the SIM card itself, instructions (sometimes in Russian), and a prepaid tariff with an internet package, minutes for local and sometimes international calls for a certain period (often 7, 8, or 15 days).

Pros: Extremely simple. The seller at the airport or store often helps activate and set it up. Within 10 minutes, you have working internet.

Cons: Limited choice of tariffs, and you pay a bit more for convenience and packaging compared to a regular local SIM.

Where to buy a tourist SIM card in 2026:

  • At arrival airports (Bangkok, Phuket, etc.): Operator counters are located in baggage claim areas and arrival halls.
  • In chain stores like 7/11, FamilyMart: Found on almost every corner.
  • From street vendors and guides at resorts.
  • Online: The most modern way is to buy on trip.com with delivery or pickup at the airport. You can pay with a Russian card.

Prices start from 299 baht. Before buying, compare tariffs: how many days it is valid, what internet volume (4G/5G), whether minutes to Russia are included.
