When is mango season in Egypt?

The mango season in Egypt falls during the summer and autumn months. According to seasonality, fresh local mangoes appear on the shelves in July, August, September, and October, and sometimes the harvest lasts until November.
It is during this period that you will find the ripest, juiciest, and most aromatic mangoes at the lowest prices. At the beginning of the season (July), the fruits may not be as sweet yet, and by the peak of the season (August-September), their quality and taste become perfect. Out of season, mangoes are either unavailable or expensive imports that cannot compare to local ones in taste and price.
Prices for mangoes at the height of the season in markets can start from 30-50 Egyptian pounds (EGP) per kilogram, but it is always worth checking the cost on-site and comparing with prices in supermarkets.
