In Egypt, Yandex Maps and Google Maps work well, but they are quite "heavy" and mostly require mobile internet. If possible, you can download a map section to your smartphone's memory via Wi-Fi and use it offline, but this is not always convenient. Moreover, the map detail is not always top-notch, especially for walking.
