Do they accept old-style dollars (without the blue stripe) in Thailand?

Yes, they do, but with caveats. Old-style dollars (issued before the appearance of the blue security stripe) can be exchanged in Thailand, but not always and not everywhere.
Some exchange points and banks may refuse to accept them due to the risk of counterfeiting. But if you visit several places, you will exchange them, as verified in practice. The key condition is that the bills must be in perfect condition: without wear, tears, folds, stamps, or signatures. Sometimes they are even checked with ultraviolet light for mold.
Also note that in some exchange offices, the exchange rate for them will be lower than for new dollars, usually by 0.1-0.5 baht (approximately 0.4%-2%). We have encountered cases where the difference reached 1 baht.
Therefore, if possible, it is better to take new-style dollars or buy euros for your trip. Read more nuances about currency exchange in our guide: Currency and Money in Thailand.
