Yes, you can drive to Ban Ho village, but with an important limitation: you cannot reach the side of the river where the main homestays are located by car.

The asphalt road TL152 leads directly to the village and ends on one bank of the river. However, the car bridge that previously connected the two parts of the village is destroyed. Therefore, by car, taxi, or minivan, you will only reach the central part of Ban Ho.

Lifehack: If your goal is accommodation in a homestay on the other side of the river, you can drive to the destroyed bridge, and then walk 5-10 minutes across the metal pedestrian bridge. The hosts will likely help you carry your luggage.

Alternative for full mobility:

  • Motorbike: This is the ideal transport for Ban Ho. On a motorbike, you can carefully ride across the pedestrian bridge and arrive right at the desired guesthouse. Renting a bike in Sapa is the most popular option among independent travelers.

Conclusion: a car will take you to the village, but for the final move to your accommodation, a short walk will be required. If you are booking accommodation, check with the hosts which side of the river it is on and how best to get there.
