You can get to the Cu Chi Tunnels from the center of Ho Chi Minh City on your own in several ways. The complex is located approximately 40-55 km northwest of the city.

Main options:

  1. Taxi or motorbike: The easiest, but not the cheapest way. A taxi ride (e.g., Grab) there and back with the driver waiting on-site will cost about 40 US dollars for the whole day. This is convenient for a group of 3-4 people.
  2. Group tour: Often this turns out to be cheaper and more convenient than traveling on your own. The tour costs from 400,000 dong (about 1200 rubles) and includes transfer on a tourist bus, guide services, and entrance ticket. You can buy such a tour at any travel agency in the tourist area of Ho Chi Minh City.
  3. Public transport: Theoretically, you can get there on local buses with transfers (e.g., to Cu Chi city, and from there on another bus or taxi to the complex itself). However, this route is complicated, requires time and language knowledge, so we cannot describe it in detail and reliably. For most tourists, it is not recommended.
Tip: If you are not confident in your abilities or do not want to spend time organizing, choose a group tour. You will save nerves and possibly money, and also get an interesting story from the guide.

You can book tours online on trusted sites that we use ourselves:
