In the Philippines, you should only refuel at official gas stations, which are abundant here and belong to international networks. The quality of fuel is good everywhere. Most rented motorbikes run on unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or 92. At gas stations, it is labeled as 'Unleaded'.

The cost of gasoline varies depending on location:

  • Gasoline 92 (Unleaded): from 70 to 80 pesos per liter (approximately $1.4 – $1.6).
  • Gasoline 95: from 75 pesos per liter (about $1.5).

Attention! Prices differ significantly depending on distance from major cities. For example, in Puerto Princesa on Palawan, gasoline may cost 55 pesos, while at the resort of El Nido on the same island, it can be 75 pesos per liter. Always check with the bike owner what specific fuel ('Unleaded') is needed for your vehicle, as labeling at some pumps may not be obvious.

Refueling is handled by gas station staff. You just need to say how many liters or how much money to refuel, or ask to fill up to a full tank. Payment is made in cash to the attendant or at the cash register.
