On the territory of the Tomb of Minh Mang, you will find an entire architectural ensemble harmoniously arranged around the Moon Lake. Here are the key objects worth seeing:

  1. A series of pavilions and palaces: From the entrance, you will pass through several elegant pavilions (Palace of Radiance, Pavilion of Freshness), some of which have preserved interiors and small exhibitions.
  2. Stele Pavilion (Bia Dinh): Be sure to find to the left of it among the trees a huge stone stele weighing about 20 tons. It is engraved with the biography and merits of the emperor.
  3. Moon Lake (Tan Nguyet): A picturesque crescent-shaped lake symbolizing the feminine principle 'yin'. The shape is not visible from the ground, but the view is very beautiful.
  4. Thanh Chang Bridge: An elegant bridge over the lake, symbolizing the transition from the world of the living to the world of the dead. You will cross it to reach the tomb itself.
  5. Tomb mound: Beyond the gates after the bridge is the tomb itself—a large earthen mound surrounded by a stone wall. The exact burial site of the emperor inside it is unknown, and access there is closed to visitors.

The route is linear and clear; for a leisurely inspection with reading information boards (there are QR codes for an audio guide), plan at least 1 hour.
