What to see at Hoan Kiem Lake?

Hoan Kiem Lake is a whole complex of attractions and activities. Here's what you can see and do there:

Main objects on the lake:

• Red bridge "The Huc Bridge" (The Huc Bridge): The hallmark of Hanoi. A bright, curved wooden bridge leading to Jade Island. Perfect for photos.
• Jade Temple (Ngoc Son Temple): Located on the island. A temple dedicated to Confucian and Taoist sages, as well as a national hero. Entrance fee (50,000 dong).
• Turtle Tower (Turtle Tower): Located on a separate small island in the middle of the lake. Accessible only for viewing from the shore, but is an important symbol of the lake's legend.

What to do around the lake:

• Walk in the park: Clean walking alleys with benches, flower beds, and sculptures are laid out around the perimeter of the lake.
• Observe city life: This is the best place to see how Hanoians relax: families with children, youth, elderly people doing gymnastics.
• Watch street performers: You can often meet artists, musicians, or even film crews.
• Go up to City View Cafe: A restaurant at the northern part of the lake is famous for its panoramic view of the lake and the evening city.
• Visit the water puppet theater: The famous theater is located in a building on the northeastern side of the lake. Attending a show is a must-do in Hanoi.
