Yes, in Malaysia, the electronic wallet Touch 'n Go (TNG) is actively developing. With it, you can pay for purchases at millions of retail points, public transport fares, and even transfer money.
However, for most foreign tourists from Russia and CIS countries, it is currently unavailable. At the moment, registration for TNG eWallet is open only to citizens of certain Asian countries. The developers promise to expand the list of supported countries in the future.
You can check if registration is available for your country on the official website: https://www.touchngo.com.my/consumer/international-tourists/
For now, the main payment methods for tourists remain:
- Cash ringgit (obtained from exchanging dollars/euros).
- Bank cards (Visa/Mastercard, considering possible blocks, as well as Russian UnionPay cards from RSHB/ATB).
