Is it worth staying in the center of Da Nang?

It is worth staying in the center of Da Nang only if beach vacation is not a priority for you. The center is good for shopping, nightlife, and short business trips, but it is located 2-3 kilometers from the sea.
The central streets Duong Tran Phu and Bach Dang along the Han River embankment are a lively area with shops, markets, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Here, there is a beautiful pedestrian embankment with views of the famous bridges, and there are jewelry shops with currency exchange. Hotels in the center are often newer and cleaner.
However, the main drawback is the distance from the beaches. Every trip to the sea will require a taxi ride or a long walk. If you are going to Da Nang specifically for the sea and sun, the center is not the best choice. For European tourists, it is more of a typical Asian shopping district than a resort area.
Verdict: The center of Da Nang is ideal for those who plan to actively shop, visit restaurants and bars, and only occasionally go to the beach. For a classic beach vacation, it is better to choose the My Khe area.
We have detailed the pros and cons of the center in the article: Overview of Da Nang districts for tourists.
