Which US dollar bills are not accepted in Egypt?

In Egypt, they are very reluctant to accept, and often outright refuse to exchange US dollar bills issued before 2006 inclusive. It is extremely difficult to exchange or pay with old-style bills issued before 2001.

This is due to security measures and the fight against counterfeit money. Therefore, when preparing for your trip, be sure to check the issue year of your dollar bills. If you exchange money at a bank in Russia, clarify in advance at the counter whether they can issue you new-style bills. Remember: if you have already been given old bills, it will be practically impossible to exchange them back at the same exchange office.

For the trip, bills of denominations 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 dollars issued after 2006 are ideal. This will save you from unnecessary problems and delays during exchange or payment.
