How long before departure should you arrive at Hurghada Airport?

If you are flying to Russia, we strongly recommend arriving at Hurghada Airport 3-4 hours before departure. This is due to enhanced security measures for passengers departing to the Russian Federation. A separate "corridor" with multiple screenings and document checks is organized for them, starting from the entrance to the departure hall. You will have to pass your luggage through scanners several times, possibly opening suitcases. The process is chaotic and takes longer than usual.

For departures to other countries, the standard time is 2-3 hours before departure. The general procedure for departure is as follows:

1. Pass the initial security control at the entrance to the airport building (there may be queues here).
2. Find the check-in counter of your airline and check in your luggage.
3. Go through passport control and the main screening into the "sterile area".
4. The "sterile area" contains the waiting lounge, Duty Free, and cafes. Note that the hall is heavily air-conditioned, so bring a warm sweater or jacket, especially if the flight is delayed.
