Answer (changed )

Tingko Beach is the most popular weekend getaway beach for residents of Cebu City. Is it worth visiting for a tourist?

Pros of the beach:

  • White fine sand, usually clean.
  • There is infrastructure: cafes, karaoke, gazebos for rent.
  • Easy to reach by public transport.

Cons:

  • Very crowded, especially on weekends. Locals come with their entire families.
  • The beach is small, only about 100 meters long.
  • Not recommended as a place for long-term stay. The area is not touristy, infrastructure is basic. It's better to stop by for a couple of hours on the way.

The beach is located 100 km from Cebu City and 20 km from Oslob.

  1. You need to get to the South Bus Terminal (Cebu South Bus Terminal) in Cebu City.
  2. Take any bus going towards Bato via Oslob. Buses run frequently.
  3. The fare is from 50 to 120 pesos depending on the bus class.
  4. Ask the driver to stop at Tingko Beach.

Conclusion: Tingko Beach can be visited if you are traveling to the south of the island (for example, to Oslob to see whale sharks) and want to take a quick swim. It's probably not worth making a special trip here from Cebu City or Moalboal for a whole day due to the large crowds.
