Angurukaramulla Temple is one of the well-known and large Buddhist temples in Negombo and a very worthy place for tourists to visit. It is notable for its unusual entrance to the main temple - through the mouth of what seems like a cat or a lion. After recent updates and reconstruction, the interior decoration has taken on a new life: with bright colorful paintings depicting the life of Buddha, his statues surrounded by close associates.
It may be interesting to see the entire cycle of human life reproduced with sculptures: from parents meeting and conception to death. The temple is truly worth visiting and gives a good understanding of Buddhist culture in Sri Lanka.
