Yes, it is definitely worth visiting the Jesus Christ statue in Vung Tau. This is the main attraction of the city and the tallest Christ statue in Vietnam, which is included in the list of must-visit places.

The 32-meter-high statue was installed in 1974 on the small peak of Nui Nho Mountain. It is only 6 meters smaller than the famous statue in Rio de Janeiro. The ascent to the statue symbolizes the "Vietnamese Stairway to God"—about 700 steps that even children can manage to climb.

And finally, the statue

Main advantages of visiting:

  • Free entry and ascent inside the statue
  • Stunning panoramic views of the coast and the South China Sea
  • Opportunity to climb to observation platforms in the statue's shoulders
  • Historical artifacts—ancient cannon guns of the Vung Tau fortress
  • Convenient rest areas along the ascent path

The only drawbacks are the need to climb the steps (about 110 meters vertically) and a strict dress code. But the views from above are definitely worth the effort!
