The infrastructure of Vung Tau has a dual nature: on one hand, it is a large modern city with developed urban infrastructure, on the other - the tourist infrastructure is mainly oriented towards local tourists, not foreigners.

The city has everything necessary for a comfortable stay:

  • City transport (buses)
  • Shopping centers and chain supermarkets
  • Markets
  • Hospitals and medical facilities
  • Banks and ATMs

However, the situation with tourist services is more complicated. There are very few street travel agencies compared to other resorts in Vietnam. Finding motorbike rentals, car rentals, tourist transfers, or currency exchange can be difficult. There is also a serious problem with the language barrier - English is hardly spoken here, even in hotels and cafes, communication often happens through an online translator.

Beach infrastructure is poorly developed - on the main beaches, there are no showers, toilets, or changing cabins. However, the city even has free public toilets, which is rare for Vietnam.

Overall, the infrastructure of Vung Tau leaves a dual impression: it seems like a big city and everything is there, but tourist services are either useless, or you have to search for them for a long time, or you cannot use them due to misunderstandings.
