The airport metro ARL (Airport Rail Link) is the fastest and cheapest way to get to the center of Bangkok. Trains run on an elevated track, bypassing traffic, and reach the center in just 26 minutes.
The fare is up to 45 baht depending on the destination station. The metro operates from 05:30 to 00:00, with trains departing every 10-15 minutes. The station at the airport is on the lowest level - follow the signs.
Tickets are purchased from machines at each station - select the desired station, pay with banknotes or coins, and receive a ticket card. The card must be kept until the end of the trip - it will be needed when exiting through the turnstile.
The most useful stations for tourists: Makkasan (transfer to the city metro), Ratchaprarop (Pratunam area) and Phaya Thai (terminal, transfer to BTS). Currently, only the City Line with stops is running, the Express Line is suspended.
