The Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) is interesting for its unique architecture, history, and the opportunity to enjoy views of Bangkok. The main feature of the temple is the tall pagoda in Khmer style, known as a prang, which is richly decorated with carvings, colored glass, porcelain, mirrors, and seashells. The height of the prang ranges from 66.8 to 88 meters, and before the construction of skyscrapers in Bangkok, it was the tallest structure in the capital.

Visitors can climb to the top of the pagoda via steep stairs, where a breathtaking view of the city, the Chao Phraya River, and neighboring attractions such as the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha opens up. The temple also has historical significance: it was built during the time when Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand, and until 1785, the Emerald Buddha statue, now located in the Royal Palace, was kept here.

The temple looks especially impressive in the evening when it is illuminated by spotlights. It is recommended to combine a visit to Wat Arun with viewing other attractions and end the day with a view of the illuminated temple from the opposite bank of the river.
