You can get to Wat Pho Temple in several ways: by metro, taxi, bus, or water transport. The temple is located near the Royal Palace on the Ratanakosin Peninsula, within walking distance of tourist areas such as Khao San and Chinatown.

The most convenient option is the metro. The recently opened Sanam Chai station on the blue line of the underground metro is just a 5-minute walk from the main entrance to the temple. If you prefer the above-ground metro, you can go to Saphan Taksin station, then take the Express Boat on the Chao Phraya River for 16 baht and sail to Tha Tien pier, from where you can walk to the temple.

To save time, a taxi is suitable. A metered trip from central areas of Bangkok will cost no more than 200 baht. We recommend using apps like Grab, Maxim, or InDrive for booking, as Uber does not operate in Thailand. In the app, you will immediately see the cost of the trip, and you can pay in cash at the end.

If you want to save money, use buses. Suitable routes include: No. 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 25, 43, 44, 47, 53, 60, 82, 91, 123, 501, 508. The fare ranges from 8 to 36 baht depending on distance and bus type. Use Google Maps or the ViaBus app to plan your route.

Another interesting but less direct option is water taxi. You can sail through the canals to the Panfa Leelard stop (near the Golden Mount Temple), but then you will have to walk almost 2 km. This method is suitable if you want to combine the trip with sightseeing other attractions.
