How to get to the Temple of Dawn in Bangkok?

You can get to the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) in several ways, including water transport, taxi, and metro. The temple is located in the Thonburi district on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, opposite attractions such as the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
The most convenient and budget-friendly option is to use water transport. From the Tha Tien pier, which is located between the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Royal Palace, a boat departs every 10-15 minutes to the Khun Mae Pueak pier near Wat Arun. The fare is only 5 baht. If you are coming from areas like Pratunam, Sukhumvit, or Siam, where there is a metro, you can take the BTS to Saphan Taksin station, transfer to the Sathorn pier, and board an orange-flagged express boat heading north. The fare from Sathorn to Tha Tien costs from 15 baht.
You can also get there by taxi, but it will be more expensive (from 200 baht) due to the need to detour over bridges. Recently, another option has appeared: take the MRT underground metro to Sanam Chai station on the blue line, from where you can walk to the Yodpiman, Tha Tien, or Wat Pho piers and transfer to a ferry or boat on the Chao Phraya River.
