Tipping in Vietnam is not mandatory, but always appreciated. Traditionally, there was no tipping system here, but tourists often leave small amounts for good service.

Recommended tip amounts:

  • In restaurants - you can leave the change or 5-10% of the bill
  • For taxi drivers - round up the amount to thousands of dong
  • For porters and maids - 10-15 thousand dong (about 30 rubles)
  • For guides - $1-2 per person for a tour

No one will demand tips, but staff will always be happy with extra reward. To give or not - decide for yourself, depending on the quality of service.
