You can bring the following duty-free alcohol allowances into Vietnam per adult tourist (over 18 years old):
- Up to 2 liters of alcoholic beverages with up to 20% alcohol by volume (e.g., wine, liqueurs).
- Or up to 1.5 liters of stronger alcoholic beverages (vodka, whiskey, cognac, etc.).
- Or up to 3 liters of low-alcohol beverages or beer.
Important nuance: if you have one bottle whose volume exceeds the specified allowance by no more than 1 liter, it will also be allowed duty-free. For example, a 2-liter bottle of whiskey.
Don't forget about duty-free! Alcohol purchased at a duty-free shop in the airport is added to the alcohol you already have in your luggage or carry-on. Monitor the total volume to avoid exceeding the limit.
You can also bring up to 5 kg of tea and 3 kg of coffee duty-free. All details and current rules for 2026 are compiled in one place: Vietnam Customs Rules - What You Can and Cannot Bring In/Take Out
