How to get from Sri Lanka airport to Colombo by public transport?

From Bandaranaike Airport to Colombo, you can travel by bus or train – these are the most budget-friendly options:

• By bus No. 187: The stop is located right across the road from the airport exit. The fare is from 100 rupees (about 26 rubles). During the day, frequent city buses run, at night – minibuses once an hour. They arrive at the bus station in the Pettah area of Colombo, from where you can walk to the railway station.
• By train: From Katunayaka South railway station (2 km from the airport), you can go to Colombo. Trains run 1-2 times a day, tickets cost from 50 rupees. You can get to the station by tuk-tuk for 200 rupees or on foot. Note that trains are often delayed.
