Ataturk Airport

Istanbul Ataturk Havalimanı airport is the former main international airport of Istanbul.

Previously, it received most flights from Russia and other CIS countries, but in 2019 it was completely disabled as a passenger civil airport, and no more flights are accepted. It was completely replaced by the new airport of Istanbul (Istanbul New Airport or Istanbul Havalimanı), all flights were transferred to it. The IATA – IST code previously used by Ataturk Airport has also been transferred to the new airport.

The information in the old guidebooks that Ataturk Airport is operating is no longer true.
