El Mina Mosque (Al Mina Mosque or Masjid El Mina) is the main cultural and religious landmark in Hurghada, the largest and largest mosque in the city. In its place was previously another mosque, built in 1968, and today it is a brand new building built in 2012.
The mosque is built of marble, the facade is decorated with exquisite carvings. The height of both minarets is 40 meters, and the height of the central dome is 25 meters. The outside of the building will look much more, but once inside it does not feel like it. In front of the mosque there is a spacious area where religious events are held.
El Mina has become the object of attention of numerous tourist groups, which are necessarily brought here for a sightseeing tour of the resort. Everyone can enter El-Mina, including tourists, and regardless of religion. But there are certain rules for visiting: at the entrance (on the left side) there is a changing room for women with capes; separate prayer halls for women and men; before entering, you need to take off your shoes and cover your head for women.
🕐 Working hours: Tourists can visit the El-Mina Mosque at any time when there are no prayers (namaz). The time of prayer varies from day to day, and, to put it simply, it depends on the time of sunrise and sunset. If you decide to visit the mosque and get to the prayer period, you can just walk around the mosque for 15-20 minutes, and after the prayer is over, go inside.
