What time can you buy alcohol in Thailand?

Good news for tourists: since December 2025, Thailand has lifted the old ban on alcohol sales from 14:00 to 17:00. Now alcohol can be purchased from 11:00 to 24:00 without a break. This significantly simplifies life β you no longer need to time your purchases to catch a beer at the store.
Important! Despite the lifting of the daytime break, Thailand still maintains days of complete alcohol sales bans β these are Buddhist holidays and election days. On such dates, alcohol is not sold anywhere, including stores and bars. If you happen to be there on such a day, don't be surprised β just wait it out.
Also remember that in stores like 7-Eleven and Big C, alcohol is sold during regular business hours, while bars and restaurants serve depending on the establishment, often until closing. For more details on sales rules and alcohol prices, read our honest guide to Thai cuisine and drinks.
