U-Tapao Airport (UTP) is located about 30 kilometers from Pattaya, which is why it is often called Pattaya Airport. But in reality, getting from there to the resort is not easy and quite expensive. There is no regular public transport, only taxis. Through Grab or Bolt apps, a trip to central Pattaya costs from 500 baht, but drivers often do not accept orders at that price, and you have to pay 2-3 times more. At the airport, there is also U-Tapao Airport Limousine, which sends minivans when a group of passengers is assembled - 500 baht per person, but the wait can be long.

Flying to U-Tapao makes sense only if you got a cheap charter flight. There are few flights here from Russia and other countries, and they usually cost significantly more than to Bangkok. For example, the minimum prices from Moscow to U-Tapao start from 68,000 rubles, while to Suvarnabhumi you can find tickets from 47,000 rubles. So for most tourists, it is more logical to fly to Bangkok Airport and then get to Pattaya by bus or taxi.

If you still end up in U-Tapao, we advise you to order a taxi through the app and not agree to the prices of taxi drivers who wait at the exit. They inflate prices to 2000-3000 baht. More details about options from U-Tapao are described in the section "By plane" in the article How to get to Pattaya independently.
