A road trip through Abkhazia opens access to many waterfalls. Here is a list of the most accessible and interesting ones for self-guided visits:

  • Maiden's Tears and Men's Tears — located right by the road to Lake Ritsa, accessible by any car.
  • Milk Waterfall and Bird's Beak — located near Lake Ritsa, the road is good, but you need to pay an entrance fee to the national park.
  • Olga Waterfalls — located on the Sukhumi Military Road, accessible via asphalt but with potholes. Entrance fee is 200 rubles.
  • Small Baryal Waterfall — visible directly from the road, you can drive right up to it.
  • New Gup Waterfall — opened in 2023, accessible via asphalt, with a trail from the road to the waterfall.
  • Gega Waterfall — requires an off-road vehicle for the last 7 km, but you can reach the turnoff in a regular car.

To visit waterfalls in the Tkvarcheli area (Saint, Irina, Giant, Zolotonosets), you will also need a car, but the road is long. Detailed routes and maps with coordinates are available in our guide Waterfalls of Abkhazia.
