Answer (changed )

The cost of a taxi ride from KLIA airport to the center of Kuala Lumpur starts from 65 Malaysian ringgit (approximately 1233 rubles), and travel time is from 1 to 2 hours depending on traffic.

Official taxi counter and Grab area at the airport

There are two main options:

  1. Via the Grab app (recommended): This is a local service similar to Uber. The price is fixed when ordering. During the day, a trip to the center (for example, to Bukit Bintang or KLCC) will cost 65-85 ringgit. At night (after 00:00) rates may be 50% higher. There is a special Grab waiting area in the KLIA arrivals hall where they will help you order a car.
  2. Official Airport Limo taxi: Can be ordered at counters in the arrivals hall. Prices are fixed and slightly higher: budget class — from 75 ringgit, premium — from 100 ringgit. This option is convenient if you don't have a local SIM card for the app.

Important about payment: The Grab app does not accept Russian UnionPay cards. Therefore, for a taxi ride you definitely need cash ringgit. Withdraw money in advance at Maybank or CIMB ATMs at the airport — they do not charge a commission and work with UnionPay. Exchanging dollars or euros at airport exchange offices is unprofitable due to the very low rate.

Taxi is the most convenient option, especially if you arrive tired, with children or a lot of luggage. An alternative could be a pre-booked transfer with a fixed price and a meeting with a sign.
