Is Kuah in Langkawi a beach resort?

No, Kuah in Langkawi is not a beach resort, but an administrative and commercial center of the island. It is the largest city in Langkawi, where the port, government institutions, offices, and shopping malls are located. There is practically no tourist infrastructure here: few cafes, bars, and entertainment for vacationers, and in the evening the city becomes quiet and deserted. Although there is a beach in the 'Legends of Langkawi' park, swimming is prohibited there.
Kuah should be considered for accommodation only in a few cases: if you need a business visit, if you arrive by ferry and need to stay one or two nights, or if you have an early ferry flight from Kuah Jetty port. For a classic beach holiday with sun loungers, beach bars, and resort atmosphere, you should choose other areas of Langkawi, such as Cenang, Tengah, or Pantai Kok.
