Is Durian Waterfall on Langkawi worth visiting?

Yes, it is definitely worth visiting, especially if you want to take a break from the beaches and swim in cool water surrounded by jungle. Durian Waterfall (Durian Perangin) is, in our opinion, the best place on Langkawi for water recreation away from the coast. Its main advantage is that it does not dry up even in the dry season, unlike many other waterfalls on the island, such as Temurun or Seven Wells. Here you can admire the falling streams and refresh yourself in the natural pool at the foot of the cascade at any time of the year.
The area is private and very well-maintained: there are convenient bridges, steps, picnic gazebos, and plenty of greenery. This place is perfect for a leisurely half-day rest: come with swimwear, food, and drinks to swim, walk, and relax in the shade of the trees. At the entrance, there is a market and a cafe where you can buy everything you need if you forgot something.
Important: Be prepared for monkeys that live in the forest around the waterfall. They can be intrusive and try to steal your belongings or food. Do not leave bags unattended and do not feed the animals. Also, be careful on the descent to the pool β the steps can be slippery.
The entrance fee is symbolic β only 2 Malaysian ringgit, making this place even more attractive. If you are looking for a location for freshwater swimming and peaceful nature relaxation, then Durian Waterfall is an excellent choice.
