Inside the Independence (Reunification) Palace, you can see many interesting locations that transport you to the 1960s-70s era. These are not just empty halls, but meticulously recreated interiors with original exhibits. Here's what you must see:

  1. State halls and offices: Reception hall, president's office, conference halls with preserved furniture, carpets, and even tableware. The setting gives an idea of the state life of that time.
  2. Presidential family rooms: Bedrooms, living rooms, movie screening room—everything looks as if the owners just stepped out.
  3. Command bunker in the basement: The most impressive part! Here is a shelter with a communication system, military operation maps, telephones, and telegraphs. You'll walk through long corridors and see where management was conducted during wartime.
  4. Roof and helicopter pad: Be sure to go up. There stands the president's helicopter and an excellent panoramic view of the park and Ho Chi Minh City's skyscrapers opens up. There is also a cafe on the roof.

On the park grounds around the palace, military equipment is also displayed: that very tank No. 843 that stormed the gates, the F-5E jet that bombed the palace, and artillery guns.

Room descriptions are available in English, Vietnamese, and French. If you don't speak these languages, to not just walk around but understand what you're seeing, it's better to take a Russian audio guide.

We have detailed each zone of the palace, supplemented the story with unique 3D photos and videos in our comprehensive guide: Independence (Reunification) Palace in Ho Chi Minh City.
