Yes, the Tomb of Tu Duc is one of the most impressive and must-visit attractions in the vicinity of Hue. It is not just a burial site, but a vast park complex with palaces, pavilions, and an artificial lake, which the emperor used during his lifetime for relaxation. Compared to other tombs in Hue, it feels like a whole separate world, and a walk here can easily take an hour and a half.

The complex is interesting for its scale, well-maintained grounds, and peaceful atmosphere. You can see beautiful gates, shady alleys, quiet ponds, and elegant pavilions. Special attention should be paid to the Stele Pavilion, where on a huge stone slab the emperor's autobiography, written by himself, is carved—this is a rare historical document that adds depth to the place.

The Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc is an entire park complex

Among the three main tombs in Hue—Tu Duc, Minh Mang, and Khai Dinh—this one, in our opinion, is a must-visit. If you are short on time and have to choose two out of the three tombs to visit with a combined ticket, then we recommend choosing the tombs of Tu Duc and Minh Mang.

Near the entrance, there is another photogenic location—the Incense Village, where aromatic sticks in all colors of the rainbow are handmade. Even without purchases, it's a great place for vibrant shots.
