How many days are needed to see everything in Hoi An?

For a comfortable introduction to Hoi An, it is optimal to allocate 3-4 full days. During this time, you will have time to feel the atmosphere of the city, see the key attractions, go to the beach, and possibly order something for yourself in a tailor shop.
Here is an approximate plan on how to distribute the time:
- Day 1: Immersion in the Old Town. A morning walk through the empty streets, purchasing a single ticket and visiting 4-5 of the most interesting sites (for example, the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Tan Ky House, the Assembly Hall). In the afternoon — shopping and choosing fabric in a tailor shop. In the evening — dinner on the waterfront and enjoying the view of the lit lanterns.
- Day 2: Beach day and workshops. A trip to An Bang or Cua Dai beach for half a day. After lunch, you can attend a cooking workshop or a lantern-making workshop — this will become a great souvenir and experience.
- Day 3: Excursion outside the city. A full-day trip to the My Son ruins (a UNESCO site) or the Marble Mountains. These destinations are easy to visit with an organized tour or rented transport.
- Day 4 (additional): Shopping and leisurely walks. Final fitting and picking up ordered clothing, visiting the night market, walking through less touristy streets, searching for interesting cafes.
If you have only 1-2 days, you will have to make tough choices. Most likely, you will only manage to see the Old Town (in the evening and morning) and possibly allocate a couple of hours for the beach, but it is difficult to experience all the facets of Hoi An in such a short time. For a short trip, it is better to stay in the center immediately to avoid wasting time on travel.
