An Hoi Island is located in the very center of Hoi An, literally across the Thu Bon River from the historic Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is not a remote island, but rather an urban area or peninsula connected by bridges.
To orient yourself:
- Main landmark: the famous Japanese Covered Bridge. Nearby is the pedestrian bridge to An Hoi.
- On the other side: the island stretches along the river, and its waterfront (Nguyen Phuc Chu Street) is concentrated with bars and restaurants.
If you are staying in the center of Hoi An, you can walk to the island in 5-15 minutes from any point. It is a must-see on the map of any tourist visiting Hoi An.
