Which district of Da Nang to choose for a quiet and secluded seaside vacation?

For a quiet and secluded seaside vacation, China Beach (Bac My An / China Beach) or the Son Tra Peninsula (Monkey Mountain) are best suited. These are locations away from the city hustle and bustle.

China Beach (Bac My An) is located on the southern outskirts of Da Nang and stretches 20 km towards Hoi An. It is one of the best beaches in the world according to Forbes (2005) with white fine sand and crystal-clear water. Here, mainly luxurious 4-5* resort hotels are located with their own territory and direct access to the shore. There is practically no infrastructure outside the hotels: quiet, deserted, nothing to do in the evenings. This is a choice for a luxury vacation when you are willing to pay for seclusion and be content with staying on the hotel grounds, and take taxis to the city for entertainment.

The Son Tra Peninsula (Nui Son Tra), known as Monkey Mountain, offers hotels with private beaches and stunning panoramic views of the city and bay. This is a protected area with pristine nature. However, there is no infrastructure or public transport here. This option is ideal for a romantic getaway for 1-2 nights or for photographers, but impractical for the main vacation due to the constant need to use taxis.

For a budget but very quiet (and somewhat dull) vacation, you can consider Da Nang Bay (Red Beach) in the north of the city, but the water is often murkier there, and life only buzzes within the renovated promenade.
